Stage II of Secondary Six Admission to continue tomorrow

A total of 19,924 Secondary Five (S5) leavers have obtained Secondary Six (S6) places on the first day of the Secondary Six Admission Procedure (SSAP). Of them, 15,600 were offered school places in Stage I and the rest in Session 1 of Stage II.

A total of 5,208 S6 places in public sector schools are still available for application in Session 2 of Stage II and Stage III tomorrow (August 12).

In Session 2 of Stage II which will take place between 9am and 1pm, students with 14 points or more (best six subjects in one sitting) in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) can apply to other schools. All Joint Admission Centres, except the one in Tuen Mun, will continue to operate in this session. The seven centres are as follows:

  * Tai Po -- Carmel Holy Word Secondary School

                (28 San Wan Road, Fanling)

  * Sha Tin -- HKCWC Fung Yiu King Memorial Secondary School
                 & Tsang Pik Shan College 
                (Hang Kwong Street, Ma On Shan) 
  
  * Yuen Long -- NTHYK Yuen Long District Secondary School 
                    (123 Kau Yuk Road, Yuen Long)
  
  * Southern -- Hong Kong Southern District Government Primary
                  School
                  (325 Apleichau Bridge Road, Ap Lei Chau)
  
  * Tsuen Wan & Kwai Tsing - Ha Kwai Chung Government Secondary

The application process in Stage III will be held between 2pm and 4.30pm. Current year HKCEE participants who satisfy the minimum A-Level entry requirements can apply to their own or linked schools.

To facilitate students to apply to other schools, the Education and Manpower Bureau has been releasing S6 vacancy information on the Internet at http://embs6.hkbn.net and by the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone hotline system at 3560 6888.

Students may also make use of the computers for public use at public libraries, District Offices, community centres and community halls, and ESD kiosks to access vacancy information on the Internet.
