A total of 27 nominations for the 2004 Legislative Council (Legco) election were received by the Returning Officers for the five geographical constituencies and 28 functional constituencies on the first day of a two-week nomination period starting today (July 22).

The breakdown of nomination lists by the five geographical constituencies is:

For the functional constituency polls, 23 nominees submitted their nomination forms.
