"Hong Kong Foodscape - Text, Image, Installation", the final exhibition of the Food Culture Festival launched by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, will run from next Monday (July 12) to October 4.

The exhibition will explore Hong Kong's food culture through mixes of poetry with photographic works and installations. It will also appeal to audiences' senses through interactive exhibits which produce scents and sounds as well as projectors that display various images in response to audiences' acts. The exhibition gallery is designed in such a way that it appears as a traditional Cantonese teahouse and a "cha canting" (Hong Kong style cafe/restaurant), which give audiences a renewed experience of Hong Kong's food culture.

The poems have been contributed by local cultural worker, Mr Leung Ping-kwan, the images by Hong Kong-Canadian photo illustration artist, Mr Lee Ka-sing, and installations by Chinese Canadian installation artist, Ms Millie Chen.

Mr Leung and Mr Lee have been collaborating for years on cultural projects. In 1997, they launched the "Foodscape" series to examine words and images as well as life and culture juxtaposed in a non-typical way. The present exhibition is a continuation of their exploration of food, with Chen, a lover of food installation, being invited to take part.

To coincide with the exhibition, two programmes - "Multi-sensation: Poetry Recitation and Appreciation" and "Meet the Artists: The Art of Expression" will be held this Sunday (July 11). The programmes are conducted in both Cantonese and English. Admission is free and seats are on a first-come-first-served basis. Pre-registration is required.

Located at 1 Man Lam Road, Shatin, the Heritage Museum is open from 10am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 10am to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays. It is closed on Tuesdays (except public holidays).

Admission is $10, with a half-price concession for full-time students, people with disabilities and senior citizens aged 60 or above. Admission is free on Wednesdays.

A free shuttle bus operates between the Sha Tin KCR Station and the Heritage Museum from 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays and from 1pm to 7pm on Sundays and public holidays.
