Police charged a 21-year-old man today (July 4) with one count of blackmail for extorting public light bus (PLB) drivers.

During an anti-triad operation mounted on July 2 in Tai Po, Crime officers of the New Territories North (NTN) and Tai Po District arrested two men, aged 21 and 29, for extorting PLB drivers operating on a route between Yuen Long and Tai Po.

The 21-year-old man charged with blackmail will appear in the Fanling Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (July 5) while the 29-year-old man has been released on bail pending further investigations.
