Task force departs for Beijing tomorrow

A Government spokesman announced today (February 7) that the Constitutional Development Task Force, led by the Chief Secretary for Administration, will leave for Beijing tomorrow (February 8) afternoon.

In Beijing (February 9 and 10), arrangements are made by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council to meet with their Office and the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress to discuss issues relating to constitutional development in Hong Kong, as well as to meet with Mainland legal experts.

Government officials accompanying the Chief Secretary for Administration, the Secretary for Justice and the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs on the visit will be Permanent Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Mr Clement Mak; Principal Assistant Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Ms Julina Chan; Administrative Assistant to the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr So Kam-shing; and Press Secretary to the Chief Secretary for Administration, Miss Cathy Chu.

The Chief Secretary for Administration, the Secretary for Justice, the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs and other SAR officials will return to Hong Kong on Tuesday (February 10) evening.
