CS' speech

**********

Following is the speech by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Donald Tsang, at the opening ceremony of 2004 Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade tonight (January 22):

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am delighted to join you this evening in this spectacular location to watch the New Year Parade organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

This Parade, being held the first time in the evening, is one of the many efforts we are making to develop new attractions, renovate our existing facilities for tourists and generally beautify our city. Over the next two years, visitors will be able to experience wonderful new attractions including the Disneyland, our new Cable Car and the Wetland Park. We are determined to remain the most popular city destination for tourists in Asia.

I hope you enjoy tonight's programme as well as the rest of your stay in this Asia's World City. I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity in the Year of the Monkey.

Kung Hei Fat Choy!
