The Chief Executive has appointed Prof Anna Pao Sohmen as Chairman and Mr Stanley Pong Kit as Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) for a period of one year from January 1, 2004.

Mrs Fanny Lai Ip Po-ping has been appointed as Treasurer of the Council of the HKAPA for a period of three years from January 1, 2004.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive has appointed Mr Clarence Chang Ching-po and the Honourable Andrew Wong Wang-fat, JP, as members of the Council of the HKAPA for a period of one year from January 1, 2004.

The following persons have also been appointed as members of the Council of the HKAPA for a period of three years commencing January 1, 2004:
