The Secretary for Justice, Ms Elsie Leung, who is in Nanjing on an official visit, was deeply saddened by the death of Sir Oswald Cheung.

Ms Leung said, "Sir Oswald was an outstanding barrister and a well-respected citizen. He will be remembered for many years to come for his long record of dedicated public service. Having had the privilege of being Sir Oswald's long time friend, I extend my sincere condolences to all members of his family. My thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
