The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, this morning (November 1) met the Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Huang Huahua, who is in transit through Hong Kong.
The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Donald Tsang, and the Executive Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Tang Bingquan, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr Tung and Mr Huang discussed the progress of co-operative efforts between the province and Hong Kong. They were satisfied with the progress made in various areas of co-operation agreed at the sixth plenary of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference, and they expressed full confidence that results could be achieved in the coming period of time.
Mr Tung and Mr Huang agreed that both governments would continue to push forward with co-operation within a new framework and operational mechanism.
