CE meets Democratic and Liberal Party legislators

The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, is continuing to meet with different sectors of the community to solicit their views in preparation for his forthcoming Policy Address.

This afternoon (October 24), he held good discussions with legislators from the Democratic Party led by its Chairman, Dr Yeung Sum.

They exchanged views on a range of issues, including constitutional development, economy, economic development, the management of public finances and education.

Then Mr Tung met legislators from the Liberal Party led by its Chairman, Mr James Tien. Members expressed their views on various topics, including improving Hong Kong's business environment, strengthening the role of advisory committees, the budget and tourism.

Mr Tung told the legislators that he would carefully consider their views and promised to keep in close touch with them.
