The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

The Registry and Court Support Services of the Lands Tribunal obtained the ISO 9001:2000 certification in June 2003, signifying that its quality management system has attained internationally recognized standards, the Judiciary announced today (July 29).

In a certificate presentation ceremony held today, the Judiciary Administrator, Mr Wilfred Tsui, was presented with the ISO 9001:2000 certificate from Mr Helmut Chik, the Managing Director of SGS Hong Kong Limited.

The Lands Tribunal was the second tribunal obtaining the ISO 9001 certification for its Registry and Court Support Services, the first being the Small Claims Tribunal which obtained the certification in March 2002 for the same scope of services.

During the past nine months and more, the Lands Tribunal had effectively established a quality management system for its Registry and Court Support Services. The ISO 9001 certification is not only a recognition of the success of the system but also shows the commitment of the Judiciary Administration to providing quality services and striving for continual improvement.
