Stringent action against vice activities in Sham Shui Po

Police will continue to take stringent enforcement action against vice activities in Sham Shui Po, a Police spokesman said today (July 24).

On July 19, three men and 17 prostitutes were apprehended in an operation aimed at stemming the illicit activity.

Follow up raid with the Immigration Department resulted in the arrest of 74 more prostitutes on July 21.

The spokesman said that starting from 8 am tomorrow (July 25), an increased number of uniformed Police officers will be deployed at the vice blackspots to conduct high profile enquiries on members of the public suspected to be involved in the illegal trade.

Sufficient signs and notices will be positioned in the vicinity of Fuk Wa, Fuk Wing, Kweilin, Pei Ho and Shek Kip Mei Streets to advice the public of the purposes of the additional police presence, he added.
