Typhoon Roundup 1

As of 1.30 am today (July 24), no major incidents have been reported following the issuing of the no. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal at 10:40 pm last night with the approach of typhoon Imbudo.

At the Hong Kong International Airport, 11 arrival and 13 departure flights were cancelled, while one arrival and one departure flights were delayed.

No serious incidents of flooding have been received. A total of 17 cases of trees falling in various districts have been reported.

The collapse of a scaffolding near Tin Wan Shopping Centre in Tin Wan Street has necessitated the closure of all Tin Wan Hill Road bound lanes.

Meanwhile, the 29 temporary shelters the Home Affairs Department has opened in various districts have registered 134 users as of 1:30 am.

Along the waterfront near the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, a man fell into the harbour and was rescued and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
