Following is a transcript of the Secretary for Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao, at a press stand-up after the Executive Council meeting today (July 8):

Reporter: What is the reason for the cancellation of the NT taxi fare concession¡H

Dr Liao: This is actually an agreement when we started in June in trying out the concession scheme that we would do a review in a month's time. This is done through a questionnaire survey agreed by all the taxi drivers and owners that if the majority should agree to scrap the concession, we would do it. And that is the result of the survey. So, we have asked for the deletion.
