Choreographer Robert Tannion presents latest work, Fetish:Stories

***********************************************

British avant-garde choreographer Robert Tannion brings his latest work, Fetish:Stories, to the Theatre, Hong Kong City Hall, from August 8 to 10 (Friday to Sunday) at 8pm. The production is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, under the "Arts Care" Scheme.

Fetish:Stories uses dance, movement, text and video projection to explore fetishes of a sexual, religious, national and cultural nature. For a fetishist, hair, guns, goldfish - even a photocopier - can take on obsessive significance.

The programme contains scenes of an adult nature.

Robert Tannion has performed and choreographed worldwide with the critically acclaimed contemporary dance troupe DV8. He and the group won an Emmy Award, a San Francisco Film Festival Golden Spire award, the Prix Italia and an IMZ Dance Screen award for their dance film Enter Achilles.

Fetish:Stories marks Tannion's first collaboration with producer and scenographer Taurus Wah and dancers Rossen Milhailov from Bulgaria and Abby Chan, Chan Lai Sheung, Frankie Ho, Allen Lam, Ong Yong Lock, Ritchie Law and Antoinette Mak, all from Hong Kong.

Tannion will conduct, in English, a modern dance workshop, Moving with Intent, on July 20 (Sunday) from 2pm to 8pm in Rehearsal Room GR1, 6/F, Backstage of the Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Applicants should possess basic modern dance training. For registration and enquiries, please contact Ms Mok at 2268 7323.

Tickets priced at $150 and $100 are now available at all URBTIX outlets. Patrons may enjoy a special offer of free selections from any of the "Arts Care" programmes: 20% discount for each purchase of 4 to 7 tickets, or 40% discount for each purchase of 8 or more tickets.
