Figures not in brackets denote percentage changes in the Nominal Wage Indices. Figures in brackets denote percentage changes in the corresponding real indices. The Real Wage Index is obtained by deflating the nominal index by the 1999/2000-based Consumer Price Index (A). |
|
The year-on-year decreases in the Real Wage Indices in December 2002 mainly reflected the influence of the increase in the Consumer Price Index (A) caused by a lower base of comparison in December 2001 upon the waiver of public housing rentals by both the Housing Authority and the Housing Society in that month. |
