The Hospital Management and Administration Group of the SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) Expert Committee continues its second day of work in Hong Kong today (June 27) by meeting senior executives and frontline health care professionals and workers of the Hospital Authority (HA).

The Group, led by Chairman Sir Cyril Chantler, will meet with the Chairman of HA, Dr Leong Che-hung, and the board members of the authority this morning. They will also have an in-depth discussion with HA's senior executives to understand the management and operation of public hospitals in the areas of infection control measures and provision of supplies.

In the afternoon, the Group will meet various hospital chiefs to find out how SARS broke out in their respective hospitals.

These series of meetings will be followed by a forum with some 180 frontline HA professionals and workers who will tell the Group their views and comments in the course of fighting with the disease.

The Group will continue its third day of activities in Hong Kong by meeting members of the Health Services Panel of the Legislative Council, and the medical and health experts who are at the forefront of investigation and response since the outbreak began.
