The Director of Health, Dr Margaret Chan, today (June 1) expressed deep sorrow over the loss of ward attendant Wong Kang Tai, who was infected with SARS while looking after patients at the Prince of Wales Hospital.
"I am saddened by the death of a dear colleague who sacrificed her life while tirelessly serving patients at hospital wards in our battle against the disease.
"I and my colleagues at the Department of Health convey our deepest sympathy to her family," Dr Chan said.
