The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government today (May 29) received another batch of medical supplies and protective gear from the Central Government intended to help control severe acute respiratory syndrome in Hong Kong.
Representing the Central Government, Deputy Director of Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Qiu Jianhua, led a team of 12 people to hand over the supplies, including 1,000,000 surgical masks, 600,000 sets of protective clothing, about 138,000 eye shields, 20,000 face shields and 350 sets of infrared thermal imaging machines to the Government at a brief ceremony held in the Central Government Offices, Hong Kong.
The representative of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Richard Yuen, received the gift on behalf of the Government. Also attended were representatives from the Hospital Authority and the Health, Welfare and Food Bureau.
