Chief Executive to deliver Policy Address tomorrow

The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will present the first Policy Address for his second term to the Legislative Council at 2.30 pm tomorrow (January 8).

Members of the public may watch the broadcast of the speech and his subsequent activities live with a simple click into the Policy Address Webpage (http://www.policyaddress.gov.hk).

The speech will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, ATV-Home and World, and Cable TV (News 1), Infonews of Phoenix TV as well as Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) radio channels 1, 3, 5 and Putonghua channel and Commercial Radio (AM864).

Later in the afternoon, the Chief Executive will give a media conference around 4.30 pm to expound on his policy initiatives. The press conference will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, ATV-Home, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1, RTHK-3 and RTHK Putonghua Channel.

On January 9 (Thursday), Mr Tung will speak at the seminar "New Era of the Pearl River Delta: Further Integration with the World Economy" at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at 9.15 am. He will attend a question-and-answer session in the Legislative Council at 3 pm. TVB-Jade, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1, RTHK-3 and RTHK Putonghua Channel will broadcast live the question-and-answer session.

Mr Tung will also attend a joint television programme on the Policy Address on the night of January 9. The programme will be broadcast live from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Cable TV (News 1). ATV-Home and TVB-Jade will broadcast the programme at 9 pm and 9.30 pm respectively.

On January 10 (Friday), the Chief Executive will deliver a keynote speech and take questions at a luncheon meeting jointly organised by various chambers of commerce at 12.30 pm. RTHK-3 will broadcast live the luncheon.

Members of the public may access the Policy Address Webpage through the 100 computer terminals at the Home Affairs Department's Super Cyber Centre at Canton Road Government Offices, Kowloon; and the Community Cyber Points in the 18 districts. The Super Cyber Centre will be open till 10 pm on January 8.
