Premier Zhu Rongji arrived this afternoon (November 18) for a three-day visit to Hong Kong, during which he will officiate at the opening ceremony of the 16th World Congress of Accountants.
Premier Zhu and his wife Madam Lao An, were met by Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa and his wife, Mrs Betty Tung.
Other dignitaries on hand to greet Premier Zhu were the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Donald Tsang; Financial Secretary, Mr Antony Leung; Secretary for Justice, Ms Elsie Leung; President of Legislative Council, Mrs Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai and Member of Executive Council, Mr Leung Chun-ying.
Along one side of the red carpet, 140 school children from the Ching Chung Hau Po Woon Primary School waved flags to show their enthusiasm while the Hong Kong Police Band provided music to welcome Premier Zhu and his wife, Madam Lao An.
