Opening Hours of Court Registries and Accounts Offices Changed

The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

The Judiciary announced today (August 23) that the opening hours of all court registries and accounts offices will be extended with effect from September 2, 2002.

These offices will be open from 9 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm during weekdays from Monday to Friday as well as from 9 am to 12 noon on Saturday.

They include registries and accounts offices in the Court of Final Appeal, High Court, District Court, Lands Tribunal, Labour Tribunal, Small Claims Tribunal, all the Magistrates' Courts, Coroner's Court and Obscene Articles Tribunal.

"The Judiciary is committed to cultivating a user-focused and striving for excellence culture in serving the community," a Judiciary spokesman said.

"It is believed that court users will find it more convenient and better-served with the extension of the opening hours of all court registries and accounts offices," the spokesman added.
