Invest Hong Kong and BMW today (August 8) co-hosted a signing ceremony for the sponsorship of 70 top-of-the-range BMW limousines for delegates' use during the 2002 Forbes Global CEO Conference.
Present at the sponsorship deed signing ceremony were the Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Mr Simon Galpin; the Managing Director of BMW Group China, Mr Guenther Seemann and the Managing Director of BMW Concessionaires (HK) Ltd, Mr Willi Flanhardt. The Vice President/Managing Director - Asia, Forbes, Mr William Adamopoulos also attended the ceremony.
BMW will be the "Official Car" for the 2002 Forbes Global CEO Conference scheduled for September 24 - 26 in Hong Kong.
The company will provide the fleet of 70 brand-new BMW 7 Series cars as official transportation for the VIPs during the three-day conference.
Invest Hong Kong, the host sponsor of the Conference, is responsible for logistics including transport arrangements.
Mr Seemann said: "This cooperation between Forbes and BMW has many synergies. Both Forbes and BMW appeal to the same target audience, and we both target successful business leaders and Chief Executive Officers who contribute significantly in their respective fields."
"I would like to thank Forbes Asia and Invest Hong Kong for providing this excellent opportunity for cooperation, and I am very confident that the 2002 Forbes Global CEO Conference will be a great success," added Mr Seemann.
Hong Kong is the Host City of the upcoming 2002 Forbes Global CEO Conference. The event will attract up to 350 regional and global CEOs and Presidents, as well as other senior executives from Asia, Europe and the United States. The theme of this year's conference is "Reassessing the Business Blueprint".
"As this will be the premier information-sharing and networking event for the world's most dynamic executives in 2002, the quality of everything we provide must be of the highest standard," said Mr Adamopoulos. "That is why it is so appropriate that we are joining forces with BMW to provide luxurious transport for our speakers and guests.
"I am confident that we will stage a smooth, effective and valuable conference in September, and am delighted that the values and image of this important event are to be so suitably enhanced by the presence and use of these superb BMW cars."
Mr Galpin thanked BMW for their free supply of 70 luxury cars and said: "This Conference provides an ideal opportunity to further raise Hong Kong's international profile, and promote awareness of our city as an investment destination.
"I am therefore pleased to see such strong support from the private sector for an international event that will bring so many CEOs and top-level decision makers to Hong Kong."
