Enjoy both Cantonese opera and operatic songs in one evening

********************************************

Over 60 young performers aged between five and 17 from the Zhanjiang Xiao Kong Que Cantonese Opera Troupe and Emily Music Forum of Hong Kong will present "The Little Stars of Cantonese Opera and Operatic Songs" in early August, featuring two nights of Cantonese operatic art performances.

The Zhanjiang Xiao Kong Que Cantonese Opera Troupe will kick off the show with one solid hour of two martial arts opera excerpts: "Yang Paifeng Beating Jiao Zan" features young heroine Yang beating Marshall Jiao through clever fighting strategies; and "Yandang Hill" tells the story of peasant army battling fiercely with the royal troop. They will also perform operatic singing "See Jing Ke Off the Yi River", the song of farewell of Jing Ke before setting off to assassinate the Emperor of Qin.

The Emily Music Forum of Hong Kong will soothe the audiences with melodious operatic singings including "Wang Zhaojun Goes Beyond the Great Wall", "King Chu Bids Farewell to His Concubine", "Making a Poem in Seven Steps" and "Cleaving Open the Mountain", etc. Come and enjoy two streams of Cantonese operatic art in one evening - a treat for you and your children.
