The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (June 14) urged consumers to stop using immediately the table lamps offered by Dah Sing Bank as free gifts to their credit card clients.

In a recent inspection, EMSD found that there might be a risk of touching the live lamp cap during replacement of the lamp bulb by the users. Moreover, some of the table lamps were fitted with cord switches that rated at 125V, which were not suitable for use locally at 220V mains voltage.

Consumers are advised to return these table lamps to the bank through designated collection centres in exchange for other free gifts as soon as practicable.
