The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

The Legislative Council will hold a meeting this Wednesday (March 6) at 2.30 pm in the Legislative Council Chamber. During the meeting, the Financial Secretary intends to present the Appropriation Bill 2002 and the estimates of expenditure for the year ending 31 March 2003.

Meanwhile, Hon Mrs Selina CHOW LIANG Shuk-yee will propose a resolution under the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance to extend the period for amending the Drug Dependent Persons Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres (Licensing) Ordinance (10 of 2001) (Commencement) Notice 2002 to the meeting of 13 March 2002.

During the meeting, Members will put forward 20 questions on various policy areas requiring written replies from the Administration.

Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting from the public galleries of the Legislative Council Chamber. They may reserve seats by calling 2869 9399 during office hours. Seats will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
