Temporary campsite set up in Sai Kung

*************************************

As the Wan Tsai peninsula in Sai Kung West Country Park will be partially closed from December 23 to 26 for the Scouting Jamboree camping activity, other campers are advised to use a temporary campsite on the peninsula or other campsites, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said today (December 19).

A temporary campsite will be set up at Nam Fung Kok in Wan Tsai from December 20 to 28 to facilitate other people who want to go camping in the peninsula during these few days. Campers are advised to use the designated footpath to access the temporary campsite.

AFCD has set up notice boards at Sai Kung Bus Terminus, Wong Shek Pier, Hoi Ha Minibus Terminus, Wan Tsai (Nam Fung Wan) Pier and Lan Lo Au to inform campers of the closure and the location of other campsites in Wong Shek Pier, Tai Tan, Hau Ton Kai and Chek Keng. The information will also be uploaded onto AFCD's homepage at http://parks.afcd.gov.hk.

During the partial closure of the Wan Tsai peninsula, activities such as cycling, fishing and hiking will be prohibited in the Sai Kung West (Wan Tsai Extension) Country Park.
