A total of 20 Administrative Officers who have served in the civil service for more than 20 years were presented with Long and Meritorious Service Certificates today (December 11) at a presentation ceremony officiated by the Chief Secretary for the Administration, Mr Donald Tsang.
At the ceremony, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joseph W P Wong, said that the awards were tokens of recognition and appreciation for the officers' loyal and dedicated service, hard work over the years and contributions to the community. He also urged Administrative Officers to demonstrate their drive and perseverance to tide over this difficult period with the community.
At the same occasion, the Chairman of the Administrative Service Association, Mr Stephen Ip, welcomed the newly appointed Administrative Officers and encouraged them to give their best and listen to the needs of the community.
This year, the Administrative Service has recruited a total of 54 Administrative Officers in two rounds of recruitment exercises. There are 18 males and 36 females in this new batch. Among them, 29 are fresh graduates and 25 have previous working experience.
