Policy Address events to be webcast live

Members of the public will be able to watch the live broadcast of the Chief Executive's delivery of the Policy Address in the Legislative Council tomorrow (October 10) at 2.30 pm and subsequent activities with a simple click into the Policy Address Webpage.

After his delivery at the Legislative Council, the Chief Executive will give a media conference to expound on his policy initiatives. He will also give a brief broadcast on the main areas of his Policy Address.

On October 11 (Thursday), Mr Tung will attend a joint radio programme on the Chinese channels at 8 am. In the afternoon, he will attend a question-and-answer session in the Legislative Council at 3 pm.

On October 12 (Friday), the Chief Executive will deliver a keynote speech and take questions at a luncheon meeting jointly organised by the chambers of commerce.

All these events will be broadcast live on the Policy Address Webpage (http://www.policyaddress.gov.hk/eindex.htm).

Members of the public may access the Policy Address Webpage through the 100 computer terminals at the Home Affairs Department's Super Cyber Centre at Canton Road Government Offices, Kowloon; and the Community Cyber Points in the 18 districts. The Super Cyber Centre and the Community Cyber Points will be open till 10 pm on October 10.

The television and radio stations will also broadcast live these events.

The delivery of the Policy Address by the Chief Executive will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, ATV- Home and World, and Cable TV (News 1), Phoenix Chinese Channel as well as Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) radio channels 1, 3 and 5 and Metro Finance.

The Chief Executive's press conference will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1, RTHK-3 and Metro Finance.

The joint radio programme on the Policy Address, which is in Chinese, will be broadcast live from 8 am to 9.20 am on RTHK-1, RTHK-5, Commercial Radio-1, Metro Finance and Cable TV (News 1) on October 11 (Thursday).

The Legislative Council question-and-answer session at 3 pm in the afternoon will be broadcast live by TVB-Jade, ATV-Home, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1 and Metro Finance.

The Chief Executive's keynote speech to be delivered at the joint chambers' luncheon and the following question-and-answer session on October 12 will be broadcast live on RTHK-3.

The live broadcast of the Chief Executive's delivery of the Policy Address can also be viewed through the broadband connection of PowerPhones at seven locations - the MTR Central Station, MTR Mong Kok Station, MTR Kowloon Tong Station, KCR Hung Hom Station, KCR Sha Tin Station, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and Hong Kong International Airport.

From October 10 to November 15, the public can review the highlights of the Chief Executive's Policy Address and related information on over 700 PowerPhone units in the territory.
