The Judiciary today (June 11) announced the appointment of Mr CHEUNG Kui-nung, Andrew as Judge of the District Court with effect from June 18, 2001.

Mr CHEUNG was born in Hong Kong in 1961. He obtained LL.B.(Hons) and P.C.LL. from the University of Hong Kong in 1983 and 1984 respectively. In 1985, he further obtained LL.M from the Harvard University. He was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1985 and was admitted as Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1995. He was in private practice since 1986 and was appointed by the Hong Kong Judiciary as Temporary Deputy Registrar of the High Court in July 2000.
