The Drainage Services Department today (May 23) awarded a HK$346 million contract to China State - ATAL Joint Venture for "Sham Tseng Sewage Pumping Station, Sewage Treatment Works and Submarine Outfall".

The Contract comprises the design and construction of a sewage pumping station, a sewage treatment works and a submarine outfall of about 160 metres long in Sham Tseng. Upon completion, proper sewage treatment and disposal facilities of a capacity of handling 16,500 cubic metres of sewage per day will be provided to cope with demands and future development of the Ting Kau, Sham Tseng and Tsing Lung Tau areas.

Works on the contract, to be completed in 40 months, will be supervised by Montgomery Watson Hong Kong Limited on behalf of Drainage Services Department.
