The Judiciary today (March 22) announced the appointment of Mr WONG Wai-kuen as Special Magistrate. The appointment will take effect from March 26, 2001.

The biographical note of Mr WONG Wai-kuen is as follows:

Mr WONG Wai-kuen was born in China in 1957. He obtained Diploma in Legal Studies from University of Hong Kong (SPACE) in 1992, Diploma with credit in C.P.E. and Diploma with Commendation of the Legal Practice Course from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1993 and 1995 respectively. In 1994, he was appointed Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, United Kingdom. He was admitted Solicitor in England and Wales in 1995 and in Hong Kong in 1996. Mr WONG was in private practice since 1996 and was appointed by the Hong Kong Judiciary as Deputy Special Magistrate between 1999 and 2000.
