Police are investigating a murder and robbery case in which an on-duty Police constable who sustained gunshot wounds died in Lei Muk Shue today (March 14).
At about 12.05 pm, the Lei Muk Shue Police Station received a call from a man who made a noise complaint against occupants of a flat on the fifth floor of Shek To House in Shek Wai Kok Estate.
A Police constable attached to the Patrol Sub-Unit of Lei Muk Shue Division was deployed to the scene to deal with the complaint.
At about 12.25 pm, Police received several reports that a uniformed Police officer was found lying outside the same flat on the fifth floor of Shek To House.
The 23-year-old Police constable was rushed to Yan Chai Hospital where he was certified dead later.
Initial investigations revealed that the Police constable sustained four gunshot wounds at his left eyebrow, left back, left arm and the back of his head respectively.
Cut wounds and signs of redness were found on his left neck.
His service revolver and 12 rounds of ammunition were also found missing.
A post-mortem will be conducted later today to ascertain the cause of his death.
Investigations by Organised Crime and Triad Bureau are proceeding.
