The following is the statement by Mr Roger Lai in response to his appointment as new Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services:-

"I am pleased to succeed Mr C.T. Leung as the Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services in January next year.

I have held various senior posts in the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department in the past and therefore I believe I have a good understanding of the work of the Department.

As the head of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, I will continue to maintain close contact with staff from multi disciplines to ensure efficient communication and smooth relationship between the staff and management sides.

The accomplishment achieved by the department is a result of the collaborated efforts of all the colleagues. We will continuously upgrade the service attitude and technical competence of our staff to further improve our trading fund services to maximise efficiency via a more customer-focused service culture. As regard regulatory services, we will continue to exert our best efforts to better serve the community."
