Policy Address events to be webcast live

The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will present his 2000 Policy Address to the Legislative Council at 2.30 pm tomorrow (October 11).

Members of the public will be able to watch for themselves his address and subsequent activities with a simple click into the Government Homepage.

After his delivery at the Legislative Council, the Chief Executive will give a media conference to expound on his policy initiatives.

On Thursday (October 12) , Mr Tung will attend a joint radio phone-in programme in Chinese at 7.45 am and another phone-in programme in English at 9.20 am to exchange views with members of the public.

In the afternoon, he will attend a question-and-answer session on the Policy Address in the Legislative Council at 3 pm.

All these events will be broadcast live on the Government Homepage (http://www.gov.hk/en/residents/).

The television and radio stations will also broadcast live these events.

The delivery of the Policy Address by the Chief Executive will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, ATV- Home and World, and Cable TV (News 1), as well as Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) radio channels 1, 3 and 5 and Commercial Radio(CR)-AM864.

His press conference will be broadcast live on TVB-Jade and Pearl, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1 and RTHK-3.

The radio phone-in programme on the Policy Address organised jointly by RTHK, Commercial Radio and Metro Broadcast Corporation on Thursday (October 12), which is in Chinese, will be broadcast live from 7.45 am to 9 am on RTHK-1, RTHK-5 and RTHK-AM621 (Putonghua channel), 881 CR-1 and Metro-Hit Radio.

The English phone-in session will be broadcast live on RTHK-3 from 9.20 am to 10 am.

The Legislative Council question and answer session at 3 pm in the afternoon will be broadcast live by TVB-Jade, Cable TV (News 1), RTHK-1 and RTHK-3.

On October 16 (Monday), the Chief Executive will deliver a keynote speech and take questions at a luncheon meeting jointly organised by the chambers of commerce at 1.10 pm. The event will be broadcast live on RTHK-3.
