Chief Executive's transcript

Following is the transcript (English portion) of a stand-up given by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, after officiating at the opening ceremony of Dickson CyberExpress at MTR Kowloon Station today (September 16):

Question: The new Legislative Council members have just been elected into office. How would you improve Legislative Council and Executive Council relations?

CE: The Executive and the Legislative relation is a very important part of my responsibility. Good relationship is a very important part of my responsibility. As you can see I have already begun to meet individual members as well as I am going to meet groups of Legislators beginning next week to try to prepare the way for my Policy Speech, and we'll try to look into the process of better understanding and communication.

Question: Do you support the Hong Kong University Report on the opinion poll controversy......?

CE: It's a subject which has been answered many times already recently by Mr Lam (Information Coordinator). So I won't have anything further to add.

As a high-intelligence retail centre, Dickson CyberExpress features six shopping worlds including the Kiddy World where a cyberquarium is set up for the children to create their virtual pet - cyber fish. With the provision of 20 different fish heads, bodies and tails, they can make a total of 8 000 combinations. Picture shows Mr Tung visiting the cyberquarium and "creating" his own fish.
