The Judiciary today (September 6) announced the appointment of Mr WONG Sung-hau as Permanent Magistrate with effect from September 7, 2000.

The biographical note of Mr WONG is as follows:

Mr WONG Sung-hau was born in Hong Kong in 1957. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of Buckingham in 1989 and was admitted as barrister in England and Hong Kong in 1990. He joined the then Legal Department as Assistant Crown Counsel in 1990, and was promoted as Crown Counsel and Senior Crown Counsel in 1991 and 1994 respectively.
