The Financial Secretary has appointed Messrs. WARDELL, James and HUI Sik Wing, Joseph on July 31, 2000 as lay members to the Insider Dealing Tribunal to inquire into possible insider dealing in the listed securities of China Apollo Holdings Limited.

The appointment of the two lay members was made pursuant to section 15(2) of the Securities (Insider Dealing) Ordinance (Cap.395).

Mr. WARDELL is the Managing Director of Rutledge Group Limited and Mr. HUI is a self-employed certified accountant. Both are experienced in Hong Kong's financial markets.

They will sit on the Tribunal under the chairmanship of Mr. Justice Hartmann. The preliminary hearing of the inquiry will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 1, 2000 at Room 702, Tower Two, Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway.
