In response to media enquiries about the proceedings of the Hong Kong University investigation panel today, a spokesman for Chief Executive's Office said, "The Chief Executive and the Vice-Chancellor did not discuss opinion polls conducted by the University of Hong Kong during their meetings."

"The Chief Executive has not passed any messages directly or indirectly to the University of Hong Kong regarding Dr. Chung's polling work."
