Security measures at robbery hearing

In response to media enquiries on a report that the doors of Court Room No. 5 in Tsuen Wan Magistracy was allegedly locked during the hearing of a robbery case this (July 25) morning, a Police spokesman made the following remarks:

Special security measures have been implemented at Tsuen Wan Magistracy this morning to facilitate the hearing of a robbery case in Court Room No. 5. The hearing was open to members of the public who were required to go through a simple security check before entry.

The doors of the court room might have been locked to facilitate the security check, but this point has to be confirmed after investigation. Nevertheless Police have no intention to block the free access to the hearing and regret to have caused inconvenience to members of the public and media representatives who covered the case.
