The names of Election Committee members who are responsible for electing six Legislative Council members in September will be published for public inspection on Friday, July 14.
The Election Committee final register contains the names and principal residential addresses of 664 elected members, 40 members nominated by the religious subsector and 90 ex-officio members, who are Hong Kong deputies to the National People's Congress and Legislative Council members.
Election Committee members may check whether their registration particulars have been correctly recorded on the register, a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said.
"Any person claiming to be a candidate in the Election Committee subsector elections held on July 9 may appeal against the election results to a Revising Officer, who is a member of the Judiciary. He may lodge an appeal not later than July 27, 14 days after the election results are gazetted on July 13," the spokesman said.
"The Revising Officer will conduct a hearing to determine whether a person whose election is questioned was duly elected," he said.
Forms for lodging an appeal are available at the Registration and Electoral Office, 10th floor, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai, or 10th and 14th floors, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai, and the Registry for Appeals to Revising Officer, the Shatin Law Courts Building, 2nd floor, 1 Yi Ching Lane, Sha Tin.
Appeal notices must be handed in to the Registry for Appeals to Revising Officer on or before July 27.
The Election Committee final register is available for public inspection at all the 18 District Offices, and the Registration and Electoral Office on the 10th floor, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wan Chai and 10th floor, Guardian House, 32 Oi Kwan Road, Wan Chai.
