Workshop on corruption prevention in building management

Residents and owners of private buildings can update their knowledge on prevention of corruption in building management at a workshop to be held at the Building Management Resource Centre (BMRC) on Hong Kong Island on June 27 (Tuesday).

Organised by the Home Affairs Department's Building Management Resource Centre (Hong Kong), the workshop will focus on corruption prevention measures in building management and owners' corporation, as well as the proper tendering procedure in building maintenance.

The workshop will be held from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at Unit 5, ground floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central. The speaker will be Independent Commission Against Corruption Officer, Mr Daniel Chui.

In addition to organising workshops, seminars, and training courses on effective building management, the BMRC also provides a wide range of building management related information for reference by visitors, including ordinances, pamphlets from various government departments, videos, press cuttings, lists of professional and Authorised Persons, and specimen forms. With the assistance of computers, Interactive Information System and audio-visual installations, visitors can obtain the required information on a self-help basis.

General advice on building management matters is given by the BMRC's staff, while free expert advice in the areas of law, accounting, maintenance and property management is provided by professional bodies by appointment.

Members of the public are welcome to visit the BMRC and make use of the facilities. The opening hours of the BMRC (Hong Kong) are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 am to 6.30 pm; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 am to 10 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.
