Chief Executive hosts luncheon for Prime Minister of Denmark

The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting Prime Minister of Denmark, Mr Poul Nyrup Rasmussen, at Government House today (May 14).

At a meeting held prior to the luncheon, Mr Tung updated Mr Rasmussen on the latest developments in Hong Kong, including the progress of our economic recovery and the successful implementation of "One Country, Two Systems". On China's accession to the World Trade Organisation, Mr Tung pointed out that this would definitely benefit world trade, including Hong Kong, China and the European countries.

Other Government officials who attended the meeting were the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Anson Chan; the Acting Financial Secretary, Mr Rafael Hui; the Secretary for Trade and Industry, Mr Chau Tak Hay; the Information Coordinator, Mr Stephen Lam; and the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Richard Yuen.
