All entries to various sections of landscape and floral display competitions of the '2000 Hong Kong Flower Show' are of very high standard.

This remark was made by Mr Isaac Chow, Deputy Director (Leisure Services) of Leisure and Cultural Services, at the prize presentation ceremony of the Open Section Competitions of the Flower Show at Victoria Park today (March 17).

He said: "The competition not only gives a chance for competitors to display their skills, but also allows flower-lovers to share and exchange their horticultural experience.

"It also provides an opportunity for the public to appreciate such a rich variety of beautiful and distinctive floral exhibits," he added.

There are 16 competition sections with 92 different classes and more than 2 000 entries have been received this year.

The champion of the Overall Best of the 2000 Hong Kong Flower Show Cup (Open Section) goes to Mr Sin Ho-leung whereas the winner of the Overall Best of the 2000 Hong Kong Flower Show Cup (School Section) is awarded to the Holly Cross Lutheran School (PM).
