First Fun Day for Judges and Judiciary staff

The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

Judges, judicial officers, Judiciary staff and family members totalling 3 500 share a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon at the first Judiciary Fun Day held in Kowloon Park today (Sunday).

Having fun in games and performances were the Honourable Chief Justice, Mr Andrew Kwok-nang Li; the Chief Judge of the High Court, the Hon Mr Justice Patrick Chan; Chief District Judge, His Honour Judge Hawkes; acting Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Li and the Judiciary Administrator, Mr Wilfred Tsui.

Group competitions among judges and staff, displays of karate and Chinese orchestra shows by secondary school students, lion dance and marching band provided by the Fire Services Department and Correctional Services Department, were among a variety of entertainment.

Adding colour to the spectacular event was a mass painting measuring 30ft x 3ft upon completion, created by children of staff with the theme of "Hong Kong 2000".
