The Judiciary today (Tuesday) announced the appointment of Ms WOO Huey-fang as Permanent Magistrate with effect from March 1, 2000.

The biographical note of Ms WOO is as follows:

Ms WOO was born in Singapore in 1957. She obtained LL.B. from University of Southampton in the United Kingdom in 1981. She was called to the Bar in the United Kingdom, Singapore and Hong Kong in 1982, 1983 and 1986 respectively. She was in private practice since 1983. Ms Woo has been appointed by the Hong Kong Judiciary as Deputy Magistrate on a number of occasions since February 1999.
