Following is the speech by the Speech by the Secretary for Security, Mrs Regina Ip, in moving the resolution on the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (South Korea) Order in the Legislative Council today (Wednesday):

Madam President,

I move that the resolution to make the Mutual Legal Assistance Ordinance, the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (South Korea) Order, the second resolution contained in the agenda I move under the Mutual Legal Assistance Ordinance, be passed.

I have explained earlier, in relation to moving the resolution to make the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (Italy) Order, the importance of making the Orders on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. I would not repeat myself here and would invite Members to approve the making of the Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters (South Korea) Order.
