Man arrested for murder attempt in Kwai Chung

Police arrested a 45-year-old man for an attempted murder case in which another man was pushed onto the rail track at Kwai Hing MTR Station and suffered serious injuries this (Saturday) morning.

While waiting for a Hong Kong-bound train on the platform at Kwai Hing MTR Station shortly before 10.30 am, a 65-year-old man was reportedly pushed from behind onto the rail track and was hit by an approaching train.

Sustaining injuries to limbs and waist, the injured has been admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital in critical condition.

Police later arrested on the platform a man suspected to have pushed the victim onto the rail track.

Motive of the attack is still under investigation.

Initial enquiries revealed that both the victim and suspect did not know each other and there was no conversation between them beforehand.

The suspect, arrested for murder attempt, is now being detained by District Crime Squad, Kwai Tsing, for further enquiries.
