The Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, will leave for Beijing on Sunday (November 21) for his annual duty visit, a Government spokesman announced today (Thursday). Mr Tung will return on November 22.

During his stay, Mr Tung will call on President Jiang Zemin, Premier Zhu Rongji and Vice Premier Qian Qichen.

The Chief Executive will be accompanied by the Information Coordinator, Mr Stephen Lam; Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Richard Yuen; and Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping. He will also be accompanied by Mrs Tung.

During the absence of Mr Tung, the Financial Secretary will assume the duties of the Chief Executive.
