The Chief Executive's Council of International Advisers will hold its second meeting on November 17 to discuss issues pertinent to the long-term development of Hong Kong, a Government spokesman said today (Wednesday).
The Council, chaired by the Chief Executive, Mr Tung Chee Hwa, comprises distinguished international business and corporate leaders.
The spokesman said, "Hong Kong is privileged to have the benefit of expertise from the Advisers, who are best placed to advise on the global and regional development trends affecting Hong Kong. Such advice is most timely as we are charting a new course for the new millennium.
"The inaugural meeting of the Council held in January this year proved to be a very useful forum for us to get insightful advice from the prominent leaders of the international business community on Hong Kong's long-term development. We look forward to another productive meeting."

The meeting on November 17 will be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The Council is expected to meet at least once a year. The inaugural meeting was held on January 20 this year.
